Wyllyam James Sheffey Jr Obituary, Death;- Painesville police have confirmed that 20-year-old Wyllyam James Sheffey Jr. of Ashtabula has died following Saturday’s shooting at the intersection of North State Street and Rockwood Drive.
According to officials, police responded to gunshots fired at the intersection at around 7:59 p.m.
Upon arriving at the scene, officers found the deceased victim, identified as Sheffey Jr., in the driver’s seat of a vehicle on the road. Police previously noted that the shooting was not related to the Spring Block Party that was held by the Painesville Community Improvement Corporation on Main Street Saturday evening.
The Lake County Sheriff’s Department, the Ohio State Highway Patrol and Painesville City Fire Department assisted at the scene. In addition, the Ohio Bureau of Criminal Identification responded and processed evidence of the scene. Painesville police say detectives are processing “a large volume of information and evidence.”
