The Berkeley County Sheriff’s Office is requesting the public’s help in identifying an individual connected to a reported shoplifting incident in the Ladson area.
According to officials, deputies responded around 11 a.m. on April 11 to a Dollar General store along Highway 78 after receiving reports of a theft involving a weapon. Investigators say the individual was observed by both employees and customers placing merchandise out of sight while inside the store.
When approached about the situation, the person reportedly revealed what appeared to be a green-colored handgun before leaving the store on foot. No injuries were reported during the incident.
Authorities have not released further identifying details but are actively working to locate the individual as part of their ongoing investigation. Law enforcement emphasized that situations involving weapons are taken seriously and are urging the community to remain alert.
