Sandra Stigler Obituary, Death; – A woman from Littlestown has been identified as the victim of a deadly accident in Maryland on Sunday, as reported by the Maryland State Police.
In a news release distributed on Sunday evening, the Maryland State Police stated that at approximately 1:30 p.m. on Sunday, November 30, 2025, troopers were dispatched to the 3000 block of Littlestown Pike, situated between Old Hanover Road and Saw Mill Road, in northern Carroll County, to respond to a vehicle collision involving a dump truck and a pickup truck.
Upon arrival, the driver of the pickup truck, identified by police as Sandra Stigler, 73, from Littlestown, was declared deceased, according to police reports.
As per an initial investigation conducted by the police, the dump truck, driven by an individual from Manchester, Maryland, was heading northbound on Littlestown Pike when it veered into oncoming traffic, colliding with the southbound pickup truck.
The reason for the dump truck’s deviation from its designated lane is still under investigation, as stated by the police.
The investigation is being led by the Maryland State Police Crash Team, as mentioned in the release, while personnel from the department’s Commercial Vehicle Enforcement Division performed a post-accident inspection of the dump truck.
The roadway was closed for approximately four hours during the investigation of the crash, according to police information.
The Maryland State Police received assistance from the Carroll County Sheriff’s Office and the Maryland Department of Transportation State Highway Administration.
