Rebecca Davis Obituary, Death; – An Omaha woman has lost her life following a multi-vehicle accident that occurred on Tuesday night in northwest Omaha.
Authorities have identified the deceased as 79-year-old Rebecca Davis, who was operating a Ford Fiesta that was part of the four-car collision. The incident took place at the intersection of Sorenson Parkway and Wenninghoff Road shortly before 6 p.m.
In addition to Davis’s vehicle, the other cars involved in the crash included a silver Honda Pilot, a red Toyota Camry, and a silver Honda Odyssey, as reported by officials. Preliminary investigations indicate that the Honda Pilot, driven by a 17-year-old from Omaha, was traveling west on Sorensen when it attempted to make a northbound turn onto Wenninghoff, resulting in a collision with Davis’s vehicle.
The subsequent impact caused the Camry and Odyssey to be struck after the initial collision at the intersection, according to the report. Both Davis and the driver of the Pilot were transported to the hospital with critical injuries; however, Davis later succumbed to her injuries.
The driver of the Camry, a 57-year-old man from Omaha, was also taken to the hospital with serious injuries. Investigators suspect that speed may have contributed to the crash, although the investigation remains ongoing. As a consequence of the accident, the intersection was closed for nearly three hours.
