Michael Dickinson Obituary, Death;- A customer at McDonald’s tragically lost his life in what officials are describing as a “freak accident” on Tuesday.

As reported by KSNB, 69-year-old Michael Dickinson passed away in an event characterized by law enforcement as a “freak accident.”

The occurrence took place at approximately 10:30 a.m. at a McDonald’s situated on 2nd Street in Grand Island, Nebraska.

Upon the arrival of police and firefighters, they discovered Dickinson trapped between the payment window of McDonald’s and his vehicle, according to the report. After being extricated, Dickinson was transported to the emergency room, where he was declared dead, as reported by KSNB.

Dean Elliott, Chief of the Grand Island Police Division, addressed reporters from KSNB, stating that the incident was “100% a freak accident.”

“It seems that the deceased opened the door to extend his reach out of the window for payment,” Elliott explained to the station. “We are uncertain if the vehicle moved forward or what transpired, but he became wedged between the door frame and the drive-thru window counter.”

As per KSNB’s report, Dickinson was the sole occupant of the vehicle at that moment. The report also mentioned that the McDonald’s establishment continued to operate after the area was cleared.
