Mary Julie Kelley,Elizabeth Lisa Conners Obituary, Death; – On Tuesday morning, Joseph Nangle received his sentence in a Jackson County courtroom for a fatal DUI incident that occurred in July 2022.
Nangle was sentenced to a total of 50 years, comprising two aggravated DUI charges to be served consecutively, along with an additional five years of post-release supervision. He had previously entered a guilty plea regarding the charges stemming from the crash that took place on Saturday, July 9, 2022.
Emergency responders arrived at Highway 90, near the Raising Cane’s in Ocean Springs, where they encountered a five-vehicle collision involving multiple vehicles engulfed in flames and several individuals injured.
Tragically, one victim succumbed to injuries at the scene, while another passed away at the hospital. The deceased were identified as sisters from New Orleans—Mary “Julie” Kelley, aged 52, and Elizabeth “Lisa” Conners (Kelley), aged 54.
Nangle was apprehended a week later, on July 16, and was initially held on a bond set at $500,000. A reporter from NEWSCHAIN was present in the courtroom on Tuesday morning and will provide further updates both on air and online.
