Daryll Moss Obituary, Death; – A man from Covington lost his life on Saturday night after stepping into the path of a vehicle on Highway 212.
As reported by the Newton County Sheriff’s Office (NCSO), 58-year-old Daryll Moss was traveling southbound on Highway 212 in a Cadillac Escalade. At one point, Moss pulled over to the side of the road and exited the vehicle. The report indicated that he “ran directly into the path of a northbound vehicle.” Moss was declared dead at the scene.
The driver of the northbound vehicle, whose identity has not been disclosed, stated that Moss “suddenly ran in front of the vehicle,” making the incident unavoidable. No charges have been filed against the driver of the northbound vehicle at this time. Sheriff Ezell Brown and the NCSO expressed their condolences to Mr. Moss’s family during this challenging period, as stated in a press release from the NCSO.
