Dominic Marshall Lencioni Obituary, Death: – Officials from the Shasta County coroner’s office have confirmed the identity of the victim involved in a tragic boating incident on Lake Shasta as 19-year-old Dominic Marshall Lencioni, a resident of Arroyo Grande. The incident took place on Saturday afternoon in Shannon Cove, located near the southern entrance to the Sacramento Arm of the lake, when two personal watercraft collided.
As reported by the Shasta County Sheriff’s Office, Lencioni was operating a jet ski when it was impacted by another personal watercraft driven by a 21-year-old male. Sheriff’s deputies arrived at the scene around 2:45 p.m. and found two individuals injured on the shore. One individual had a knee injury, while the other sustained facial injuries. It was believed that both were riding on the same jet ski involved in the collision. Fortunately, the 21-year-old operator of the second watercraft did not sustain any injuries.
Emergency medical personnel transported Lencioni and the other injured party to Bridge Bay Marina for urgent medical care. Despite the efforts of the medical team, Lencioni became unresponsive while at the marina and was subsequently rushed to a hospital in Redding, where medical staff attempted to revive him; however, he was pronounced dead shortly after arrival.
The boating accident has left the local community in shock and has raised significant concerns regarding safety on Lake Shasta, a favored location for recreational water activities. An investigation into the incident is currently underway, as authorities seek to ascertain the precise circumstances that led to the collision.
