Dennis Vietmeir Obituary, Death; Summit County son found not guilty by reason of insanity in murder of father

Dennis Vietmeir Obituary, Death;- A son accused of killing his 75-year-old dad inside their Tallmadge home, was found not guilty by reason of insanity.

Ryan Vietmeier, 44, will now be committed to a mental health facility.
Tallmadge Police responded to the home in the 500 block of Cynthia Ln. at 11:13 a.m. on July 6.

According to police, Vietmeir called 911 and said he shot his father.

Officers arrived at the home and took Vietmeir into custody.

Tallamadge EMS initiated life-saving measures and transported the father to Akron City Hospital, where he later died.

He has been identified as Dennis Vietmeir.

According to a neighbor, Ryan lived in an apartment in the basement of his parents’ home.
