David Fletcher Obituary, Death; – A car accident in Brandon, Vermont, early Tuesday morning has resulted in one fatality, as reported by the Vermont State Police. The collision is said to have taken place near the intersection of Forest Dale Road and Country Club Road.
Troopers arrived at the scene shortly before 1 a.m. after receiving a report of a single-vehicle crash involving a utility pole. Upon their arrival, officials discovered the driver, identified as 62-year-old David Fletcher from Brandon, unresponsive, with personnel from Green Mountain Power administering CPR.
An investigation has indicated that the vehicle was heading south on Forest Dale Road when it veered off the west side of the road and collided with a utility pole. The vehicle subsequently came to a stop off the side of the roadway.
Fletcher was taken to Rutland Regional Medical Center, where he was pronounced dead by medical personnel. Authorities have indicated that alcohol is believed to be a contributing factor in the incident.
