Darin Takeo Hirata Obituary, Death; – A teenager killed in a single-vehicle crash last week in Elk Grove has been identified.
Darin Takeo Hirata, 17, of Elk Grove, died Oct. 19 from the crash on Elk Grove Boulevard, east of Waterfowl Drive, according to the Sacramento County Coroner’s Office.
His cause of death is pending, records show.
The crash’s cause remained under investigation as of early Monday afternoon, though drugs and alcohol did not appear to be a factor, per the Elk Grove Police Department.
Hirata was the only person in the vehicle, and he was pronounced dead at the scene, authorities said.
