Sean Marquardt Obituary, Death; – Further information has been released regarding a tragic incident that resulted in the death of an individual at Harbour Village Resort and Campground on Saturday.

Emergency responders arrived at Harbour Village Resort prior to 7:45 a.m. following reports of an explosion. Upon the arrival of the responding deputy, the deceased individual was discovered near the damaged structure. He has been identified as 27-year-old Sean Marquardt from Algoma. The Egg Harbor Fire Department reported that resort staff were utilizing the approximately 3,000-gallon water tank to flush the water lines as part of the winterization process for the end of the season when the explosion occurred.

The Brown County Medical Examiner’s Office and the Wisconsin State Fire Marshal have been called to aid in the investigation. Additional information will not be disclosed until proper identification and an autopsy have been conducted. Emergency personnel from the Egg Harbor Fire Department, Egg Harbor Emergency Medical Responders, Door County Emergency Services, and the Door County Sheriff’s Office responded to the incident, with some remaining on-site until they were released at 8:40 p.m.
