Claudia Mae Dreffs Obituary, Death; – A woman who lost her life when a train traveling from Birmingham to New Orleans collided with a vehicle earlier this week was identified on Friday morning. According to Bessemer Detective Justin Burmeister, the incident occurred at approximately 1:43 p.m. on October 30 at the railway crossing located near the intersection of Caroline Avenue and 32nd Street.
Burmeister reported that two individuals were ejected from the vehicle during the collision, resulting in the death of one woman and leaving the male driver with serious injuries. The Jefferson County Coroner’s Office has identified the deceased woman as 21-year-old Claudia Mae Dreffs, a resident of Hayden. Details regarding the circumstances of the crash have yet to be disclosed.
