Brandon Ulibarri Obituary, Death; – Authorities have disclosed the identity of a man who passed away following a shooting involving law enforcement at a police station in eastern Arizona last week.

The Arizona Department of Public Safety, which is overseeing the investigation, has confirmed that he is 39-year-old Brandon Ulibarri from Oklahoma City, OK.

Just prior to 1 p.m. on Wednesday, January 14, town officials reported that officers were attempting to apprehend the individual when he began to resist arrest at the Round Valley Police Department in Springerville. During the altercation, Ulibarri allegedly drew a handgun and discharged at least one round.

A police officer from Round Valley returned fire, hitting Ulibarri, who was declared dead at the scene. Fortunately, no officers sustained injuries.

Details regarding the events leading up to the shooting have not been made public, and the reasons for the officers’ attempt to arrest Ulibarri remain unclear. In accordance with standard procedure, the AZDPS Major Incident Division is conducting the investigation.
