Aaron Slaughter Obituary, Death: – The Iowa State Patrol has provided information regarding a tragic accident that occurred in rural West Liberty. The victim has been identified as 24-year-old Aaron Slaughter, who tragically lost his life in a single-vehicle incident last week.
Slaughter was a passenger in a 2006 Chevrolet pickup truck operated by 23-year-old Garrett Love from Lone Tree. The accident took place early Wednesday morning while the vehicle was heading north on the 1200 block of Elder Avenue, situated just west of West Liberty. At a certain point, the truck was unable to successfully navigate a curve, resulting in a devastating outcome.
The vehicle rolled over several times before coming to rest in a nearby soybean field. During the rollover, Slaughter was partially ejected from the truck and was pronounced dead at the scene.
The other two individuals in the truck, including driver Love and another passenger, 18-year-old Adrianna Timmerman from Wapello, suffered injuries in the incident. Both were subsequently transported to the University of Iowa Hospitals and Clinics for medical care.
