Emmanuel Torres Obituary, Death; – Fort Worth police currently possess limited information regarding the individual responsible for a shooting that occurred during a road rage incident following a collision and subsequent violent altercation.
Emmanuel Torres, a 30-year-old resident of Fort Worth, was involved in a crash on the East Loop 820 South Freeway at Highway 287 shortly before 2 a.m. on Sunday. Authorities report that when Torres exited his vehicle to engage with the driver of the other vehicle, he was shot by that individual, who then fled the scene.
The medical examiner has confirmed that Torres sustained a gunshot wound to the head and was pronounced dead at the location of the incident. Investigators are actively pursuing leads to identify the suspect and are appealing to the public for assistance.
“We believe there are witnesses to this incident. The homicide unit is interviewing everyone present at the time, but we encourage anyone who has not yet come forward and has information about the events to contact us,” stated Officer Tracy Cater of the Fort Worth Police Department. “A car accident should not result in the loss of life.”
Authorities wish to remind all drivers to avoid confrontations, maintain composure in the event of an accident, and recognize that no situation is worth risking one’s life or the life of another.
