William Garhartt Obituary, Death; – A man was fatally shot and three others sustained injuries during a shooting incident at a residence in Needles on Wednesday morning, July 23, which has led to a homicide investigation, according to officials.
Spokeswoman Gloria Orejel informed VVNG that deputies were dispatched to an assault report at 6:41 a.m. in the 1900 block of Erin Drive in Needles. Upon their arrival, they discovered that four individuals had been shot.
One individual was declared dead at the scene, while the other three were taken to hospitals for medical care, as stated by Orejel. She further mentioned that there was no information available regarding a suspect or suspects at that moment, and further details would be provided as they become available.
The deceased victim has been identified by the San Bernardino County Coroner’s Office as William Garhartt, 52, from Needles. Records indicate that the shooting occurred at the residence of a friend of the victim.
Although dispatch logs suggested that an arrest was made at the scene, no details about the suspect have been disclosed, and the investigation is ongoing.
Authorities have not revealed the identities or conditions of the three surviving victims.
