Wilicia Franklin Obituary, Death;- Police have identified the woman who was struck and killed by a vehicle on Friday night as 43-year-old Wilicia Franklin, a resident of the city.
According to Officer Christian Bruckhart’s statement, officers were dispatched to the intersection of Ella T. Grasso Boulevard and Judson Lane at approximately 10 p.m. in response to a motor vehicle accident involving a pedestrian.
Bruckhart reported that an injured female pedestrian was located in the right southbound lane of Ella T. Grasso Boulevard.
Medical assistance was provided at the scene, and she was subsequently transported to Yale New Haven Hospital, where she succumbed to her injuries, he stated.
The driver of the vehicle remained at the scene and was cooperative with the police, he added. The driver informed investigators that he was heading south on Ella T. Grasso Boulevard when a woman appeared “suddenly in front of his vehicle.” Police are uncertain about where she entered the roadway, Bruckhart noted.
The driver stopped to offer assistance, he mentioned.
