Tia Williams,Landon Kinds Obituary, Death; – Two children tragically lost their lives in separate accidents over the weekend in Birmingham and Fairfield.

On Monday, the Jefferson County Coroner’s Office identified the deceased as Tia Williams, age 10, from Birmingham, and Landon Kinds, age 16, from Pleasant Grove. Tia was a fifth-grade student at WJ Christian School in Birmingham.

The multi-vehicle accident occurred at 1:10 p.m. on Saturday on the southbound lanes of Interstate 59, near Oporto Madrid Boulevard. Further details regarding the incident have not been disclosed. Tia was among at least five individuals transported to the hospital, where she was pronounced dead at 2:06 p.m.

In addition to Tia, two adults and two other children were hospitalized, with one child reported to be in critical condition. Officials have stated that a counseling team is available at the school today. The Birmingham Police Department is conducting an investigation into the incident.

Landon was fatally injured early Sunday morning in the 6100 block of Valley Road in Fairfield. The collision occurred at 4:07 a.m., when authorities reported that Landon collided with the rear of a parked 18-wheeler. He was pronounced dead at the scene at 4:42 a.m. The Jefferson County Sheriff’s Office is also investigating this incident.
