Tejaswi Patha,Ramadan Patha Obituary, Death; – The two individuals involved in the double fatal accident on the Kankakee/Will County line and Illinois Route 50 on Friday have been named.

Will County Coroner Laurie H. Summers reported that Tejaswi Patha, a 35-year-old woman from Aurora, was declared dead at the scene.

She was a passenger in a minivan that was hit by a semitractor-trailer at the intersection of County Line Road (12000 North Road, Kankakee County) and Illinois Route 50, located south of Peotone.

Kankakee County Coroner Bob Gessner stated that Ramadan Patha, a 55-year-old woman from Plainfield, was pronounced dead at Riverside Medical Center.

Four additional passengers were transported to various hospitals via ambulance. A juvenile was airlifted to Comer Children’s Hospital in Chicago, as reported by the Manhattan Fire Protection District in a news release.

The location of the crash has been the scene of several serious and fatal incidents over the past two years.

Illinois State Police indicated that they were dispatched to Illinois Route 50 and Kankakee County 12000 North Road at approximately 7:37 p.m.

Gessner noted that it appeared the minivan was heading east on 12000 North Road and did not stop at the stop sign. The semi was traveling north on Illinois 50 and collided with the side of the minivan.

According to the Manhattan Fire Protection District, upon their arrival, multiple occupants were found trapped inside the minivan.

Fire districts from Monee, Manteno, Frankfort, and University Park were summoned to the scene for assistance. A LifeStar medical helicopter was also requested to respond.

Emergency crews remained on-site for several hours to aid the ISP with the investigation and ensure scene safety. The cause of the accident is still under investigation by the ISP, as stated in the release.
