Syrus Suniga,Dario Urena Obituary, Death; – Early Friday morning, three individuals from Kerman lost their lives following a vehicle collision with a palm tree, which subsequently ignited, on Kearney Avenue, as reported by the California Highway Patrol.

Dario Urena, a 25-year-old resident of Kerman, was operating a Honda Civic in an eastbound direction on Kearney Avenue shortly before 2:45 a.m. when he reportedly lost control of the vehicle near Garfield Avenue.

Authorities indicated that Urena executed an unsafe left turn, resulting in the car veering into the westbound lane, spinning uncontrollably, and departing from the roadway. The Civic collided with a palm tree and erupted in flames, trapping Urena along with his two passengers. The passengers, identified as Syrus Suniga, 21, and Joey Suniga Jr., 27, both from Kerman, also suffered fatal injuries in the incident.

The Fresno County Sheriff-Coroner’s Office confirmed the identities of the deceased on Friday afternoon. Investigators from the CHP suspect that alcohol may have played a role in the accident. The investigation remains active. Individuals with any information are encouraged to reach out to the Fresno area CHP public information officer at (559) 705-2200.
