Sukanta Panda Obituary, Death; – The Hamilton County Coroner’s office has confirmed the identity of the 76-year-old man who lost his life after the vehicle he was in was struck by a tractor trailer on the Ronald Reagan Cross County Highway on Monday.

Sukanta Panda, a resident of West Chester Township, succumbed to his injuries from the collision that occurred on November 3.

A 2018 Lexus, occupied by Panda and a 71-year-old woman, had pulled over to the right shoulder of the highway due to a flat tire. While they were stationary, a 2021 Peterbilt tractor trailer collided with them, resulting in both vehicles veering off the right side of the road, as reported by a news release from the Hamilton County Sheriff’s Office.

Both Panda and the unnamed woman were transported to Bethesda North Hospital. Unfortunately, Panda passed away from his injuries a few hours later, according to the sheriff’s office.
The 59-year-old driver of the tractor trailer was also taken to Bethesda North Hospital, where he received treatment for minor injuries before being released. His identity has not been disclosed.

Dispatchers indicated that emergency medical services from Sycamore Township and Blue Ash were dispatched to the crash site.

According to the sheriff’s office, all individuals involved were wearing seatbelts, and there is no indication that speed or alcohol played a role in the incident.

The Hamilton County Sheriff’s Office Traffic Unit is continuing to investigate the crash. Anyone with relevant information is encouraged to reach out to them at 513-825-1500.
