SPC Marin Rose Obituary, Death; – An Iowa National Guard soldier tragically lost his life following a collision just before the Fourth of July holiday.

The Iowa National Guard has reported that SPC Marin Rose, a 19-year-old from Fort Madison, died in a crash on July 2nd. According to the Iowa State Patrol, Rose was operating a Honda Civic on Highway 218 near Mount Pleasant when he crossed the median and collided head-on with a semi-truck. Unfortunately, Rose succumbed to his injuries at the scene.
SPC Rose was serving as a transportation driver with the 1133rd Transportation Company, which is based in Iowa City. He enlisted in the Guard in 2023 and was cherished for his strong work ethic, positive demeanor, and profound dedication to his fellow soldiers.

SPC Rose graduated from Fort Madison High School in 2024, where he participated in both basketball and football. At the time of his passing, he was enrolled at Southeastern Community College.
