Sophie Blomsma Obituary, Death; – Authorities have identified a woman who tragically lost her life in a head-on collision with a logging truck on Route 132 on Sunday morning.
Sophie Blomsma, a 17-year-old resident of Lincoln, was operating her 2019 Volkswagen Tiguan when she veered across the centerline and struck a 2005 Kenworth pulp truck, which was being driven by 49-year-old Nathaniel Bell from Leeds, as reported in an update from the Androscoggin County Sheriff’s Office on Facebook.
Blomsma was declared deceased at the scene of the accident. Bell sustained no injuries. The investigation into the cause of the crash remains ongoing, according to the post.Assistance at the scene was provided by the Wales Fire Department, the Maine State Police Commercial Vehicle Unit, and the Maine Department of Environmental Protection.
