Derek A Wayman Obituary, Death; – The Camden County Sheriff’s Office announced on Monday the identity of an individual who was fatally shot during what authorities describe as an attempted burglary.
Derek A. Wayman, aged 44, has been identified as the suspected burglar who was shot and killed early Wednesday morning at a residence located on North Highway 7. According to the sheriff’s office, Wayman was known to frequent the areas of Sparta and Springfield in Missouri.
The release states, “Detectives are pursuing leads in collaboration with several other local law enforcement agencies to identify Wayman’s accomplice from the morning of the incident, but a positive identification has not yet been made.” Further information will be provided when it becomes available.
Last week, the sheriff’s office reported that a resident shot Wayman around 3 a.m. on Wednesday, while another individual involved in the burglary fled the scene in a dark-colored vehicle. No charges have been filed against the shooter.
