Shauna Marie Palmisano Obituary, Death; – A 38-year-old woman was hit and killed late Sunday night while walking along the center of Yates Road, according to the North Carolina Highway Patrol.
Troopers said the crash happened around 11:25 p.m. on July 13, when a silver 2016 Nissan Frontier traveling northbound on Yates Road hit the woman, identified as Shauna Marie Palmisano.
Investigators said Palmisano was also walking north, in the center of the road, when she was hit. Palmisano was pronounced dead at the scene. The driver of the 2016 Nissan Frontier remained on site and no charges are expected, troopers said.
It’s unclear why Palmisano was walking in the roadway.
No further details were immediately released.
