Savanah Rose Robinson Obituary, Death; – A woman from Billings who lost her life in a single-vehicle accident on Memorial Day has been named.

Savanah Rose Robinson succumbed to multiple blunt force injuries, as stated by Yellowstone County Deputy Coroner Rich Hoffman. The crash on Monday also resulted in a second individual being hospitalized with serious injuries. The incident, which is still under investigation, was one of at least four fatal accidents that the Billings Police Department has looked into this year.

On the night of May 26, emergency responders were summoned to Airport Road, located west of the North 27th Street Roundabout. They transported one individual to the hospital. Unfortunately, Robinson did not survive the incident. The 22-year-old had obtained her associate degree in business administration from Montana State University Billings in 2024, having achieved the dean’s list multiple times throughout her studies.

Billings Police Department officers closed the westbound lane of Airport Road between North 27th Street and Stoney Ridge Circle for approximately 10 hours following the accident. Earlier this month, two teenage sisters lost their lives when the SUV they were in veered off the road along Airport Road, just east of the North 27th Street roundabout.

Two days after the incident that claimed Robinson’s life, the BPD responded to another fatal accident on the far west side of Billings. A vehicle collided with a bicyclist on Grand Avenue near 46th Street West, according to a statement from the Billings Police Department.

Thus far this year, the BPD’s crash investigation team has been called to four accidents resulting in serious injuries and four fatalities. The previous year concluded with 22 serious accidents, 13 of which were fatal, marking the highest number in Billings since 2018.

While all of this year’s cases for the BPD are still under investigation, alcohol intoxication is suspected to have played a role in half of these accidents. DUI offenses in Billings have been on a downward trend since 2020, according to data from the BPD.

In exchange for her guilty plea, Yellowstone County prosecutors are recommending a 30-year sentence to Montana State Prison. At her eventual sentencing, attorneys representing Jefferson will be free to argue for a lighter sentence.

Statewide, troopers with Montana Highway Patrol have responded to 68 deadly crashes on Montana’s roads in 2025, a slight increase compared to the end of May 2024. Drunk driving was suspected to have been a factor in about a third of those crashes.

Since the start of the year, there have been 11 fatalities in the Billings District of MHP, which encompasses Yellowstone and several other surrounding counties. For the first time in years, there have been more fatal wrecks in the Missoula District so far in 2025.
