Sanny Dewan,Daniel Abbott Obituary, Death; – Authorities have identified the individuals involved in a tragic head-on collision that occurred on Friday morning in Wyoming County, which took place during a police pursuit of a vehicle that had been reported stolen from Long Island.

Dispatch received a communication at approximately 8:20 a.m. indicating that an officer from the Warsaw Police Department was chasing a blue BMW traveling westbound on West Buffalo Street in the village, as per the Wyoming County Sheriff’s Office. Two minutes later, the officer reported that the vehicle had collided on Route 20A in Orangeville, close to the Warsaw town line.

According to police, the BMW, operated by 19-year-old Sanny Dewan from Buffalo, collided head-on with an eastbound SUV. Upon arrival, the Warsaw officer and sheriff’s deputies discovered the BMW engulfed in flames, extinguished the fire, and rescued Dewan from the vehicle. He was subsequently transported to Wyoming County Community Hospital, where he succumbed to his injuries.

A passenger in the SUV, 48-year-old Daniel Abbott from Lancaster, was declared dead at the scene. The SUV’s driver, 48-year-old James Stablewski from East Aurora, was taken to Erie County Medical Center with critical injuries, as reported by the police. The investigation into the crash is ongoing, with the New York State Attorney General’s Office involved due to the fatalities resulting from an incident involving law enforcement.
