Samuel Lopez Obituary, Death; – Police have identified a man killed in a double-stabbing on Washington Street Saturday as 47-year-old Waterbury resident Samuel Lopez. A second person also sustained a “serious facial laceration” and a minor cut and was released from the hospital after being treated, according to police.
The stabbing, which police described as a homicide, was reported around 9:35 p.m. at an address in the 60 block of Washington Street. Officers responded and located Lopez outside “suffering from multiple stab wounds,” said Lt. Ryan Bessette, a Waterbury police spokesperson.
Lopez was taken to a local hospital, where he died from his injuries, Bessette said. He said the second victim also was found at the scene and taken to the hospital. Bessette said the department’s Major Crimes detectives are investigating the incident.
