Rudy Veloz Obituary, Death; – Officials from the Fresno County Sheriff’s Office have confirmed that the victim of a recent homicide is 34-year-old Rudy Veloz from Orange Cove.

On Sunday, March 16th, at 1:10 P.M., dispatchers received reports of gunfire occurring outdoors at the Orchard Village Apartment Complex, situated at 1555 South Avenue in Orange Cove.

Police from Orange Cove arrived on the scene within five minutes and were directed to an apartment unit. Inside, they discovered Rudy Veloz with multiple gunshot wounds. Officers immediately began administering medical assistance, as he was still conscious at that time. He was subsequently transported by ambulance to Reedley Hospital, where he succumbed to his injuries.

Authorities initiated an investigation to identify the shooter and gathered information regarding a 16-year-old male suspect and his possible whereabouts. The Sheriff’s helicopter, EAGLE One, guided patrol deputies to the suspect, who was located a short distance from the apartments and taken into custody. It has been established that the suspect and the victim were acquainted.

The Fresno County Sheriff’s Homicide Unit is currently handling the investigation, with detectives focused on determining the motive behind the shooting.
