Rosanna Kinsinger Obituary, Death; – A man has been apprehended in connection with the murder of a woman within an Amish community in Ohio. Samuel Hochstetler was taken into custody on Monday and faces charges for the murder of 28-year-old Rosanna Kinsinger.
The Meigs County Sheriff’s Office classified Kinsinger’s death as suspicious on March 13. Since that date, detectives from the Sheriff’s Office have executed multiple search warrants, conducted interviews, and analyzed evidence gathered from the crime scene. They have pursued various tips, leads, and rumors that ultimately led to the identification of Hochstetler as a person of interest in the investigation.
Kinsinger’s remains were sent to the Montgomery County Coroner’s Office for an autopsy, but preliminary results were deemed inconclusive by the sheriff’s office. Sheriff Fitch remarked, “This case is a tragedy for those who knew Rosanna. She was cherished in her community.” He added that detectives have tirelessly sought answers and have now obtained them, expressing hope that the investigation will provide some closure for the victim’s family, while extending the Sheriff’s Office’s deepest condolences.
Mose Troyer, a resident of the Amish community where both the victim and the suspect resided, discovered Kinsinger’s body. He informed WSAZ that Hochstetler, originally from Kentucky, had been living with him for several months. Troyer recounted that on March 13, community members noted Kinsinger’s absence throughout the day. That evening, he entered her home and found her deceased, with her goat present inside.
He promptly called 911. Troyer expressed his discomfort at having lived alongside the individual who has now been charged for weeks following the incident. Hochstetler is currently detained at the Gallia County Jail with a bond set at $1 million, and his preliminary hearing is slated for May 13.
