Robert Adams Obituary, Death;- The Independent Investigations Division of the Maryland Office of the Attorney General has disclosed the identities of the individual who was fatally shot, as well as the Baltimore County police officers involved in an officer-involved shooting that occurred in Dundalk earlier this week.
The deceased individual has been identified as 55-year-old Robert Adams, a resident of Dundalk.
According to the IID, six officers from the Baltimore County Police Department (BCPD) were involved in the fatal incident. All officers are part of the BCPD’s Operations Bureau.
The officers are as follows:
Police Officer First Class Andrew Meyer, with 6 years of service
Police Officer First Class Malik McLaughlin, with 6 years of service
Police Officer First Class Austin Kiss, with 4 years of service
Police Officer First Class Nicholas Cook, with 3 years of service
Officer Mason Rice, with 1 year of service
Officer Luke Eubert, with 1 year of service
The IID is continuing its investigation into the circumstances surrounding the shooting.
On October 8, at approximately 8:30 p.m., BCPD officers responded to the 2100 block of Larkhall Road following multiple reports of gunfire.
Upon their arrival, officers observed Robert Adams inside the residence, positioned at a second-floor window.
The officers reacted to Adams’ actions, which prompted them to discharge their firearms.
A county tactical team was deployed to the scene and established a barricade that remained in place for several hours.
Approximately two hours after the shooting, officers entered the residence and discovered Adams suffering from gunshot wounds.
Emergency Medical Services (EMS) personnel pronounced him dead at the scene, as reported by officials.
Two firearms were recovered from within the home, located near the window where officers initially observed Adams.
Officials have stated that no officers or members of the public sustained injuries, and in accordance with departmental policy, the involved officers are currently on administrative leave.
