Rita B Loncharich Obituary, Death; – Palm Beach Gardens police are conducting an investigation into a fatal stabbing that occurred at the Barnes & Noble bookstore located on Legacy Avenue. On December 22, 2025, at around 7:53 p.m., officers were dispatched to the store at 11380 Legacy Ave. following reports of a stabbing.
Upon arrival, responding officers discovered the victim, identified as Rita B. Loncharich, aged 65, inside the store and promptly provided assistance. She was subsequently transported to a local hospital by Palm Beach Gardens Fire Rescue, where she later succumbed to her injuries.
Witnesses informed investigators that the suspect had stabbed the victim and then fled the scene. The suspect, identified as Antonio R. Moore, aged 40, was apprehended by investigators shortly thereafter.
According to police, suspect Moore admitted to stabbing Loncharich within the store without any prior interaction or motive. He explained to investigators that he acted on an impulsive “fight-or-flight” response, utilizing a fixed-blade knife that he had concealed in his jacket. Following the incident, he fled into nearby woods, where officers subsequently arrested him.
Moore is now facing a charge of first-degree premeditated murder.
