Reggie Vardon Obituary, Death; – Deputies have identified the remains of an 83-year-old man discovered on Tuesday near a creek in the town of Victor.
Authorities suspect that Reggie Vardon was likely carried away by a severe storm on July 15, 2024. According to deputies, he was last seen departing from the ESL Federal Credit Union on School Street in Victor that same day. Vardon resided at Autumn Grove Apartments, located approximately a mile from the site where his remains were found.
Deputies noted that Vardon no longer drove and usually walked in Victor to complete his errands. His remains were obscured by dense brush and trees, which is the reason the sheriff’s office did not locate him during previous searches. They reported that someone walking in a remote area discovered the remains.
During the storm, the creek swelled and remained elevated for several days afterward, according to deputies. The cause of Vardon’s death is still undetermined, and Sheriff David Cirencione indicated that it may be challenging to ascertain.
