Rachel Renee Robinson Obituary, Death; – Bibb County Sheriff’s Office investigators are currently looking into the death of a 55-year-old inmate who was found unresponsive in her cell at the Bibb County Law Enforcement Center on Sunday afternoon.

According to the sheriff’s office, corrections deputies found the inmate at around 2:08 p.m. Medical personnel promptly initiated lifesaving efforts until Emergency Medical Services arrived. The inmate was subsequently transported by ambulance to Atrium Health Navicent, where she was pronounced dead shortly before 6 p.m.
The Bibb County Coroner has identified the inmate as Rachel Renee Robinson. Officials have confirmed that her next of kin has been informed.
Robinson had been incarcerated at the jail since her arrest by the Atrium Health Navicent Police Department on November 22, 2025, on a charge of battery against a law enforcement officer.
An autopsy will be performed by the Georgia Bureau of Investigation, as mandated for all in-custody fatalities. The incident is also being reviewed by Internal Affairs investigators from the Bibb County Sheriff’s Office Office of Professional Standards.
The sheriff’s office has expressed its condolences to Robinson’s family and others impacted by her passing.
