Patricia Ware Obituary, Death; – A 76-year-old woman who lost her life in a two-vehicle accident in Gardena has been identified as of Wednesday.

The incident occurred around 7:40 a.m. on Sunday at the intersection of Van Ness Avenue and 135th Street, in proximity to Rowley Park, as reported by the Gardena Police Department. Upon their arrival, officers discovered two vehicles had collided, with one driver unresponsive inside her vehicle. Paramedics pronounced the woman dead at the scene.

The Los Angeles County Office of Medical Examiner later identified her as Patricia Ware. The second driver, who fled the scene, was identified as 29-year-old Marian James, a Los Angeles resident, according to police. Officers from the Los Angeles Police Department subsequently located James outside her residence and arrested her, after which she was booked at the Gardena Police Department.

Initial investigations indicated that James was traveling southbound on Van Ness when she disregarded a red light at 135th Street, resulting in a collision with the vehicle traveling eastbound, as stated by police.
