Niurka Alfonso-Acevedo Obituary, Death; – Authorities are actively seeking a man in relation to the stabbing death of a woman discovered outside an elementary school on Monday morning.
The Metro Nashville Police Department reports that 52-year-old Niurka Alfonso-Acevedo was found fatally stabbed in the vicinity of Chadwell Elementary School. An arrest warrant has been issued for 54-year-old Candido Raul Rubio-Perez, charging him with criminal homicide. According to the MNPD, Rubio-Perez is the estranged spouse of Alfonso-Acevedo. The incident occurred prior to the arrival of students on the premises.
At approximately 6 a.m., a staff member at the school discovered Alfonso-Acevedo in the parking lot and promptly contacted emergency services. Officers responded to the scene shortly thereafter. Police indicated that she had been employed as a custodian at the school since 2024. The MNPD suspects that Rubio-Perez was waiting for her in the parking lot prior to the incident.
“Anyone with information regarding his location is encouraged to contact Crime Stoppers at 615-742-7463. Callers can remain anonymous and may be eligible for a cash reward of up to $5,000 in homicide cases,” stated the MNPD.
