Nakia L Dawson Obituary, Death; – The Austin Police Department has confirmed the identity of the individual who lost their life in a crash that occurred in Southeast Austin earlier this month.
Officers arrived at the scene of a collision involving a vehicle and a pedestrian in the 8000 block of S. IH 35 NB SRVD at 3:07 a.m. on July 18th. The driver stayed at the location and assisted with the investigation.
The victim was taken to a nearby hospital and was declared deceased at 2:58 p.m. on July 22nd. The deceased has been identified as 50-year-old Nakia L. Dawson. This incident is currently being treated as Austin’s 52nd fatal crash of 2025, which has resulted in a total of 56 fatalities.
