Amisi M Wilondja Obituary, Death; – A 25-year-old individual from Phoenix, Arizona, tragically lost his life on Thursday night, July 24, 2025, after being hit by a semi-truck on Interstate 70 in Madison County, according to authorities.
The incident took place at approximately 10:30 p.m. on July 24, 2025, in the westbound lanes near the 20.4-mile marker, in proximity to the intersection of Illinois State Route 4 and Interstate 70. On Monday, July 28, 2025, Madison County Coroner Nicholas P. Novacich identified the deceased as Amisi M. Wilondja.
The Madison County Coroner’s Office received notification at 10:39 p.m. on July 24, 2025, and Investigator Samuel T. Stone arrived at the scene, declaring Wilondja deceased at 11:14 p.m. The semi-truck driver remained at the scene and is cooperating with the ongoing investigation.
The preliminary cause of death has been reported as multi-system trauma, as stated by the Madison County Coroner. Standard toxicological tests have been performed, but the results are still awaited. The definitive cause of death will be established once all reports are finalized.
