Melvin Catcheway Obituary, Death; – Winnipeg police have announced an arrest related to a deadly shooting that occurred in August.
Melvin Catcheway, aged 25, lost his life on August 29 on Langside Street following a confrontation with another individual, according to police reports.
Homicide detectives have identified a suspect, 53-year-old Troy Donavan Bernier, who was apprehended on Friday.
Bernier is facing a charge of second-degree murder and was also wanted for making threats and for non-compliance with probation conditions.
Authorities indicated that the suspect and the victim were acquainted prior to the incident.
