Marquise Stanley Obituary, Death; – A motorcyclist was killed after hitting a utility pole in northwest Charlotte Friday morning, according to police.
Marquise Stanley, 32, was identified as the victim. The wreck happened around 6:30 a.m. on Friday, May 23, along North Hoskins Road near Tennessee Avenue.
Police said they were called to the area for a welfare call for service and, upon arrival, found Stanley lying in the roadway. Reports stated a 2011 Yamaha motorcycle was nearby Stanley.
A preliminary investigation indicated Stanley was driving southbound on North Hoskins Road, lost control of his motorcycle, and struck a utility pole.
Medic responded and pronounced Stanley dead at the scene of the crash.
As of this writing, it’s unknown if speed and impairment were factors in the collision. Toxicology results for Stanley are pending.
