Margarita Placido Obituary, Death;- The Bexar County Medical Examiner’s Office has confirmed the identity of a woman who, according to police, was murdered by her son at an apartment complex on the Northwest Side.
Margarita Placido, aged 68, succumbed to injuries sustained to her head, as reported by the medical examiner’s office. Her death has been classified as a homicide.
Placido was killed at approximately 2:35 a.m. on Tuesday in the 8800 block of Cinnamon Creek, situated near the Medical Center, as per the San Antonio police.
Authorities stated that Placido’s son, identified as 31-year-old James Garcia, made a 911 call and pleaded for assistance. Upon their arrival, he informed the officers that he had taken Placido’s life, according to SAPD’s report to KSAT. Shortly thereafter, officers discovered Placido deceased in the hallway of an apartment, exhibiting “physical injuries,” as stated by SAPD.
Garcia has been apprehended and charged with murder in relation to Placido’s death, as indicated by Bexar County court records. He is presently held at the Bexar County Adult Detention Center with a bond set at $250,000, according to the records. Court documents reveal that Garcia has a pre-indictment hearing scheduled for August 2025.
