Marely Ariana Fragoso Herrera Obituary, Death; – Two individuals lost their lives in a collision involving two vehicles on the Golden State (5) Freeway, and an investigation into the incident is currently in progress, as reported by the California Highway Patrol on Thursday.
CHP officers responded to the scene at 11:37 p.m. on Wednesday at the southbound freeway and the Lakewood Boulevard off-ramp, where they discovered the victims near a gray vehicle and another car obstructing the middle lanes of the freeway.
The victims were declared deceased at the scene by paramedics from the Downey Fire Department.
One of the deceased has been identified as 18-year-old Marely Ariana Fragoso Herrera, who succumbed to blunt force trauma as a result of the freeway accident, according to the Los Angeles County Medical Examiner’s office. The identity, age, and gender of the second victim have not yet been disclosed.
The accident caused significant lane blockages on the southbound freeway for over three hours.
