Kadrian Jackson Obituary, Death; – Law enforcement is currently investigating a fatal two-vehicle collision that took place shortly before 3 a.m. on Sunday in Wichita. The victim has been identified as 18-year-old Kadrian Jackson, a resident of Wichita, as stated in a media release from the Wichita Police Department.
According to Wichita Police spokesman Brad Wright, an SUV operated by Jackson was traveling westbound on Central Avenue when it proceeded through a green light at Hydraulic.
A motorcycle heading northbound disregarded a red light at Central and collided with the left rear quarter panel of the SUV. This impact caused Jackson to lose control of the vehicle, resulting in it overturning. The crash left the 18-year-old trapped beneath the SUV.
Wichita Fire crews successfully extricated Jackson, who was then transported to a local hospital in critical condition. He was pronounced dead at 2:47 a.m., as reported by Wright.
Additionally, two passengers in the SUV were taken to a hospital with injuries that were not life-threatening. The motorcyclist was also transported to a medical center for treatment.
Preliminary investigations suggest that the 32-year-old motorcyclist may have been impaired at the time of the crash, which could have contributed to the incident. The case will be forwarded to the Sedgwick County District Attorney’s Office for review, pending the results of blood tests before any potential charges are filed.
