Jorge Guerrero Hurtado Obituary, Death; – A 43-year-old man, who was allegedly targeted by a suspect prior to a fatal shooting, has been identified as the victim in a case that also involves the murder of a woman in Koreatown. The Los Angeles County Department of Medical Examiner’s office confirmed the identity of the victim as Jorge Guerrero Hurtado.

According to police reports, Hurtado was riding an electric bicycle before the incident occurred. NBC4 reported that he was discovered next to his bicycle in front of a residence, having sustained at least five gunshot wounds.

On Tuesday at approximately 4:20 p.m., officers responded to a shooting report in the 900 block of South Victoria Avenue, located in the Mid-Wilshire area, as stated by the Los Angeles Police Department.

Upon arrival, officers were directed to a male victim with gunshot wounds. The police statement indicated that he was pronounced dead at the scene by paramedics from the Los Angeles Fire Department. It was later revealed that the suspect had intentionally struck Hurtado with his vehicle before the shooting took place.

Marvin Magana, a 50-year-old resident of Los Angeles, has been arrested and charged with the murder of Hurtado, as well as the murder of the woman found deceased in Koreatown on Tuesday evening. The LAPD reported that Magana is being held on a bail amount of $3 million.

The LAPD noted that Magana voluntarily entered the 77th Area Station at 10:30 p.m. on Tuesday and informed the police about a deceased woman located in the 800 block of South Berendo Street. Officers subsequently discovered a vehicle in that area containing the body of a 38-year-old female passenger, who had also suffered multiple gunshot wounds. Paramedics from the Los Angeles Fire Department responded and pronounced her dead.

The identity of the woman has not been released, pending notification of her family members. The police statement confirmed that the suspect responsible for both murders, Marvin Magana, was identified and that the case will be forwarded to the Los Angeles County District Attorney’s office for filing consideration.
