John Thomas Loyd Obituary, Death;- Due to the overwhelming response from the public, Texas DPS Troopers have identified the owner of the horse involved in the Orange County fatality crash on December 19, according to Jasper County Sheriff Chuck Havard.

John Thomas Loyd, 52, of Kirbyville was killed in the collision at about 3:20 a.m. Friday.

State troopers say Loyd was traveling south on Highway 62 at North Ridge Drive, near Mauriceville, and struck a horse that entered the roadway.

Loyd died at the scene. The horse was also killed.
