John Stoneking Obituary, Death; – The coroner’s office in Monroe County has confirmed the identity of the individual who perished in a fire in Smithfield Township. John Stoneking, aged 68, was declared deceased on Sunday evening following an apartment fire on Poco Lane.
According to the report, the causes of death were attributed to thermal injuries and inhalation of combustion products, and the incident has been classified as accidental. The Marshalls Creek Fire Company reported on social media that firefighters responded to the multi-unit apartment building shortly after 5 p.m.
In addition to the deceased, officials indicated that three other individuals were hospitalized due to burns. Fire crews remained on the scene for approximately five hours, as stated by the fire company. A fire marshal from the state police is currently conducting an investigation.
