Jesus Alexis Beltran Aragon Obituary, Death; – The Kern County Coroner’s Office has confirmed the identity of the individual who lost his life in a collision near Valley Plaza Mall as 23-year-old Jesus Alexis Beltran Aragon from Bakersfield.

On Saturday, May 10, 2025, at approximately 8:50 p.m., officers from the Bakersfield Police Department responded to reports of a two-vehicle accident at the intersection of Hughes Lane and Holden Way. Upon arrival, they discovered an overturned SUV with a man trapped underneath. This individual, later identified as Aragon, was declared deceased at the scene.

According to the coroner’s report, Aragon was a passenger in the vehicle. Another occupant of the SUV sustained minor injuries and was transported to a hospital. The driver of the second vehicle involved, also male, was taken to a different hospital with moderate injuries. Preliminary investigations by the police indicated that the SUV was heading south on Hughes Lane and attempted to make an eastward turn onto Holden Way. During this maneuver, the SUV collided with a northbound vehicle on Hughes Lane, resulting in a broadsided impact that caused the SUV to overturn.

The Bakersfield Police Department has stated that speed does not currently appear to be a contributing factor in the accident. Investigations into potential drug or alcohol involvement are ongoing, pending toxicology results. The inquiry remains active, and anyone with relevant information is encouraged to contact the BPD at (661) 327-7111.
