James Boutwell Obituary, Death; – The San Bernardino County Sheriff’s Department confirmed over the weekend that a 71-year-old man discovered deceased in a Yucca Valley residence on Friday night was a victim of homicide.

James Boutwell, a resident of Yucca Valley, was found around 7 p.m. in the 55500 block of 29 Palms Highway. Emergency personnel were called to the scene for a medical assistance request, leading to the grim discovery. Upon their arrival, authorities located Boutwell inside the home, where he was pronounced dead, as stated by the sheriff’s department.

Investigators determined that Boutwell had suffered a violent assault, prompting the Sheriff’s Specialized Investigations Division – Homicide Detail to take over the case, according to the department’s report.

The identity of the suspect(s) remains unknown, and they are still at large, as indicated by law enforcement officials.
