Jairo Rodriguez Obituary, Death; – A traffic control officer in Newark was tragically killed by a vehicle on Thursday outside the Prudential Center, as reported by law enforcement officials. According to authorities, the incident occurred around 1 a.m. when 53-year-old Jairo Rodriguez was managing traffic after an event at the venue.
The driver involved has been identified as an off-duty officer from the Newark police department. The driver remained at the scene and was subsequently taken to the hospital. It remains uncertain whether any charges will be filed. In a statement from the Department of Public Safety, Director Emanuel Miranda praised Rodriguez, describing him as “highly respected and beloved by all who worked with him.”
